I'm a big fan of going to airshows.  Especially to see stunt teams like the USAF Thunderbirds of NAVY Blue Angels.  Does anyone know of any good FS9 models of their planes (F-16's and F-18's)...preferrably in the team's livery already?  Thanks!  :)

Kirk Olsson has an excellent freeware F-16, and I believe someone has repainted it in the Thunderbird's livery

There's a freeware F-18 model by Team FS KBT, and I know there are people who have repainted it in the Blue Angel's paint scheme.

Gah, have a look in the 'aircraft wanted' section.  I just posted the same thing a week or two ago.  Therefore, it should still be in the top 3 posts  ::).

BUT, to answer your question, there is a great package on here that holds the Blue Angels in apparently all the liveries (1,2,3 etc.).

FYI - You can find the Blue Angels's C-130 'Fat Albert' on pg. 23 in the military section of FS2004 downloads. For those who don't know, it is the aircraft that the support crew for the demo. team travels in. This bird accompanies the Angels wherever they go. 'Fat Albert' usually does a rocket assisted take-off during an airshow - loud and fun to watch

Ok guys thanks...I'll give all of those a try   .  How I have a doozie for you  ;D...what about a space shuttle model?  I've seen the Nick's DSpace Shuttle Landing Challenge but I just want the aircraft. Thanks  :)

Not just C-130, they also, use the C-17 and whatever is avaliable to them by the Air Force. To help you find what your looking for HolluH14, go to the "Site Search" at the top and type in "Thunderbirds or Blue Angles".

There is a payware F/A-18 at www.aerialfoundry.ca that you can get... one of the packages is a Blue Angels package and comes with the older, "McDonnell Douglass" on the spine and current, "Boeing" .  All have last seasons team names printed nicely under the canopy and has 1-7.

It's like $20 or something but totally worth it, best F/A-18 models out there!

As for T-birds, check out repaints for Kirk Olsens F-16.


As for their support, SkyNoz is right, they use whatever the Air Force has available at the time.  last show I attended they had a C-5.

To clear up these things, the Thunderbirds now use whatever support aircraft is availible, usually either a C-5 or a C-17.  When they came to a airshow i live near, they brought a C-17 from McChord AFB in washington.  They used to use a C-141 but i dont remember a camo one, prolly in the early 90's when C-141's were camo.  Also i have seen the thunderbirds use multiple C-130's for support as well.  They use whats availible at that given time pretty much.
