The Skydiver by Captain Slug

Hi all,

I remember about a great addon that was made for FS98 by Captain Slug. It was a Skydiver (and a SkySurfer) that acted almost like real:

- without gears nor flaps, it was just a guy in the horizontal chute position.

- when deploying full flaps, the parachute was appearing and the "aircraft" started to glide slowly like it should.

- Deploying the gear was also allowing the body of the guy to switch from horizontal (fall position) to vertical (suspended position).

The flight model was not very good already on FS98, and I wanted to import this aircraft into FS2004 to check if anything could be done to improve the situation.

Unfortunately, those animations (parachute opening and position switching) do not work anymore in FS2004. By using another '.air' file, I managed to make the parachute appear, but still the gear animation doesn't work.

Is there any .air and . cfg experts out there who could make anything about that please ?  :)

The only available skydiver for FS2004 requires changing the aircraft to swicth from chute to parachute...not so cool. I would really like to have the Captain Slug skydiver to work again  8)

Arf, Ok, so no CFG experts here  ;D just joking.

I'm wondering if any modeler out there would be interested in realizing a "decent" freeflyer for FS2004 ? If the existing ones can't be modified, lets do another one that's great ( <= desperate attempt to motivate anyone  ;D )
Ok never mind  :)

Why don't you try contacting the author?  He may still be able to help out with the transition, or he may have remade the thing for FS9.
