Ok..
I've tried, and tried, and tried - to modify the open-source Bell 407(found over at Hovercontrol) by Alan Devins and I am falling flat on my face in my attempts.
My intent is to make it more accurate by modifying the upper fuselage (making it more wider near the air intakes and extending the width all the way to the tail). On the original, the upper fuselage resembles a Bell 206 LongRanger, while the 407 has a completely different, wider design. I'm also trying to add the additional air intake on the 407 below the turbine access panels, to no avail.
I also am trying to remove the winshield "tint" by either removing the windows altogether or modifying the color because it's hard to see out of the virtual cockpit - even with my monitor at its brightest). Not to mention, it's slightly unrealistic, since the tint on a real 407 isn't even close to being that dark.
I also want to add a FLIR-like camera apparatus to make a tv news helicopter version for my TV News helicopter repaints of that particular model, but I can't even get the object in the right place, lol.
I'm also trying to edit the VC panel, because it's missing the annunciator panel and the two side air vents that are typical of most 407's, and I'm trying to add the foot pads under the tail rotor pedals.
Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong? Assistance is greatly appreciated.
