Hiya all,
I have searched high and low for an RAF Puma and have run into trouble. There isn't one around at all.

If you need some help i have had about 3 hours on them and ther are loads of pics about the web.

Any problems e-mail me at scott.wayne@ev700.freeserve.co.uk

There aren't any RAF paintjobs for Puma models at the moment in 2k2, but try http://www.simviation.com/fs2002heli27.htm and http://www.simviation.com/fs2002heli12.htm for some Super Puma models that can be flown.

The RAF Puma is slightly differant to the Super Puma. The nose is differant. This is how i ran into problems.

Well that and the fact i am terrible at doing repaints!  ;)

I know the feeling Scott. I'm more than a little artistically challenged too ;D
I was with 230Sqn when I joined the RAF, so I know the Puma well. Lovely heli.

Ah, Pumas!  Main problem, as Swayne pointed out, is that the RAF Pumas are the early models (AS330), less rounded noses etc.  All of the Pumas on SimV are AS332L/AS532, variously known as Puma, Super Puma or Cougar - they are actually longer than the RAF jobs, the L2 models substantially so!

There are some early AS332L models about, which mainly differ from the RAF version in having larger sponsons and a large fin under the tail; I WAS going to bite the bullet, compromise and do a slightly fictional repaint but the only place I could find them to download was the da Silva's site and most of the download links are down.  If anybody can point me in the direction of another source (the Brazilians call it the CH-34 by the way, sounds kinda familiar!!) I'm willing to have a crack at it - 230 Sqn tiger stripes are not an option!!!!

Yeah, I flew with 230sqn while I was at Aldergrove and love the helo too bits. They are a great bunch of people and i had the time of my life. My favourite bit was when we were at low level down the valleys the pull up hard and flick the nose forward and went to -2g and the loadmaster jumped in the air and hovered for 8 seconds! :o

I will see if i can e-mail the da Silvas and get them to let me borrow the .fsc and remove the large fin under the tail!

AndyG: my mail is scott.wayne@ev700.freeserve.co.uk and my MSN is eclat_red1@hotmail.com. If we can have a chat i am sure we can make the best helo FS has ever seen!
