Hmm, well I don't think there is a bad Spitfire Oz ;D
In FS2k2, there are two models here that are nice, the MkV and XIV. In the sounds downloads you'll find Merlin and Griffon engine noises for the respective models (I'm a stickler for those little details).
Otherwise, there is a darling Seafire III over at flightsim.com, there is a lovely Seafire 47 here in FS2k downloads, which I've modded a bit and it flies like a dream.
Failing that there are the CFS2 selection (some v.nice ones).
Personally I log most of my hours on the MkV or Seafire  III (a MkV with tailhook (should be called a belly hook!) and strengthening for maritime duties).

the outhouse has a nice one,
got it last night haven't flown it much,
on a short ride it seemed to be real
good, if my mind serves me It had a
real nice panel, I think it was by VB?

ill check it out x, thanks. I remember i downloaded a very good one once with a good DVC and a very nice flight model and textures. It was for CFS2 and i think it was made by a Frenchman, now if only i could remember his name..
