What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

For FS2002. Anyone know where I can get ahold of one?

I think you'll find one here in the commercial aircraft downloads. Try doing a search.

Thanks Ozzy. Didnt realize it was a recent topic.  Also - as someone else mentioned, I think it is made by boeing, and the airbus is a similar jet powered version. I was looking for the old 4 engine turboprop version.

Thanks again.

The "guppy" and "Super Guppy" series were highly modified Boeing Stratocruisers, used by NASA, etc., and finally, Airbus.

Initially powered by piston engines, the final versions were turboprops.

Airbus first used them to move large parts around, until they developed the "Beluga".

Thanks for the info Felix. I went ahead and downloaded the Beluga, but its not showing up in my aircraft menu. I went into the cfg file and gave it the manufacturer, mode, and variation types so it would show up under Airbus, but Im getting nothing. Its an fs2k model that im trying to use in fs2k2 - but that hasnt been a problem before. Any thoughts?

There are 2 A-300-600 Belugas (aka Guppy's) - both originally for FS2000 but both show up fine in FS2002 - though under 'unspecified' .... - I've just tried them.

OMC'99 version

Posky version

You can, like you said, change the 'aircraft.cfg' file to get the aircraft to show up under 'Airbus' --- maybe you made an error doing this?

I've got the Beluga model, and it shows up fine in FS2k2 under 'Airbus'. Don't forget that you need to populate the FS2k2 aircraft.cfg file with the stuff the FS2k2 needs, as the old FS2k .cfg file is pretty bare. (This is the one instance where FSEdit is useful, as it does this for you.)

The first piece of my Beluga .cfg file looks like this:

[fltsim.0]
title=Airbus A300-600ST F-GTSC
sim=pac300600stge
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=
description=Project Airbus\nAirbus Industrie involves the production of aircraft airframes in France, Germany, Spain and the U.K. The final assembly lines are located in Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany. Major airframes have to be transported from production lines to the assembly plants using turbo prop Super Guppies. The four ageing Supper Guppies have now been replaced by five Airbus A300-600ST (Super Transporters) Belugas (whale). The Beluga is derived from the A300 airliner
ui_manufacturer=Airbus
ui_type=A300-600ST
ui_variation=Beluga
atc_heavy=1
atc_id=AB300
atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=AB300

Hope this helps.
