Boeing 727

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Boeing 727

Hi,
I am looking for a Boeing 727 with real engines controls. So far I had fond only the ones with the default 2 engines control of FS2002.

Claude,

There are several photorealistic 727 panels available here at Simviation or at Avsim.net.  Any of these panels can be installed in the aircraft you are flying.  In fact, since the 727 is my favorite, I've built a collection!  I believe I have six different variations installed in my fleet of 727's right now.

I recommend only downloading panels specifically designed for fs2002 or you may run into compatibility issues.  In each of these sites, trying searching under "fs2002 panels" and you should find what you're looking for.

Good luck!

Also something to be aware of with tri-jets (DC10/MD11 as well as the 727) is that some models only have 2 of the three engines active. If you alias a four-engine panel like the 747, you can immediately see how many engines there are, by how many throttle levers are working. If two, it is possible to add a third engine by editing the .air file (use AirEd) and then the aircraft.cfg (use Notepad).

There is a very good photoreal 727 panel out there - I had mine from avsim, I think.

You could find the Aerolineas Argentinas 727, install that and alias the panel, it's an excellent panel. (You can get that plane in the FS2002 Civil Jets section on this site) My only complaint is that there's no NAV/GPS switch that I can find... but if you don't fly ILS landings, you'll be fine!

You can always insert a gps/nav switch (from one of the default panels) by inserting the appropriate line in the panel.cfg file.

If I remember right, there is a really nice B727 over at Flightsim.com.  I remember it was painted in an American Airlines scheme and was a large download (like 18MB).  I think it won the model of the month award, but it was a while back (possibly last year).  Anyway, it was the best one I've seen.

The best freeware 727 available: The FFX 727 pack. Its available at flightsim.com and i think avsim.com It doesnt have a panel though so youll have to find one.
