Certainly one of the cheapest ways of purchasing an aeroplane for the price of a motor car, (in some cases, the price of a second-hand motor car)...!!
..and operating it on a "Permit To Fly" licence rather than the "very" expensive C of A aircraft PPL licence...!

It is interesting to note in the aircraft press that the "cheap" second-hand "spam-cans", Cessna and Piper, are now nearing the end of their service life and the cheap options now are 3-axis and flexwing microlights, including home-builds.
Many flight schools now are buying microlights to compliment their Cessna 150/152 trainers...!
