Ya,, you probably wouldn't like my idea of Cargo planes, their old, loud, smokey,, and cool looking,,, but,, you probably like that newer stuff.

but,, ya might like the C-46 Commando's,, maybe - Dunno' ???

Link : http://simviation.com/1/browse-Props-38-0?mark=43708#43708

or a DC-3 or DC-6 4 Engine Radial Propliner,,,, I dunno' just a suggestion,,,,

Go for Captain Sim's C-130. My personal favorite.

For some reason I love the DC-3.

Watch this video to get in the feeling for a "modern" DC-3 flight.

NOTE - On my computer YouTube STARTS several minutes into the video. I hope that it's only a problem on my system. If it happens on your system just manually reset it to the beginning.

My favourite is the Fairchild C123 Provider..."Air America!*.... :D ...!

Twin Radials, with a twin rocket boost for short-field take-offs!

Excellent wheel arrangement for remote, rough, landing strips, and a BIG cargo hold!

Excellent Panel. (Added the full Bendix-King Radio Stack from the Beech Baron 58, with Autopilot)

...and quite fast!

Paul....FS 2004...With Robert Downey Jr, as a Co-pilot...!... ...!

* ...as seen in the Film; "Air America".... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099005/

I agree with Fozzer.
The Fairchild 123 is the ultimate STOL aircraft of its era and was able to carry a lot of cargo.

Try this FSX De Havilland CC-115 (DHC-5) Buffalo, by Premair. Canadian Forces use them for Search and rescue, but they are an excellent STOL cargo 'plane for remote locations. Search Simviation files.

Well I have to admit I'm partial to the Aero Commander, because I used to fly them. If you're just asking about the flight simulator I still think nothing beats the good old DC-3. Try it on some short fields if you want a challenge.

Surprised no one mentioned the DC-4/ C-54; long legs, plenty of pop and chips space. Of course, it depends on the mission. Milton Shupe made a Cargo version of the Grumman C-1 Trader that's pretty cool. There's also the Howard 500
Cargo version.

Me? I'd stick with the good old De Se Tres... that vid BTW is the BOMB! There are a lot of DC-3 vids out there like that one; real bush flying!
