De-Havilland Dove

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

It's a small world. I once personally overhauled 95% of all pneumatic components on the Dove & Heron. One of our best customers was PRINAIR as they had the largest fleet of Herons in the world. I knew their chief engineer very well. ;)

PS.
I can't imagine a non-DH engined Dove.

Did you never see a Riley Dove? http://www.airliners.net/open.file/094160/M/
I recall a terrible accident with one of these when the main spar failed. There was a big fuss about it at the time.

Yip, they're Lodestars  ;D

There's some more info at http://www.ipmssa.za.org

Click on the Early Aircraft drop box and look for Lodestar  :)

Hagar - thanks for the photo of the "Dove" ... groan...

While I can "imagine" it, it pains me... the swept back tail, ... Aaargh!  I can handle the engines, but THAT TAIL!

and I had to see that before my morning coffee.  :(

Don't know if this is of use but here you go: Heron & Dove
http://www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=185  http://www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=184

There is a Heron sitting at the Chilliwack, BC airport. I've only seen it from a distance so I don't know what condition it's in nor it's history. Next time I'm out there I'll try to get some digi pics.

Hi all I seemed to have stirred up a lot of interest with this request, but still no Dove to fly.  :( Is there one being made by anyone? Regards Chris.  ;D
