HP Victor sound

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

HP Victor sound

Hope this is the right area to post this.....

I recently downloaded the Handley Page Victor bomber for FS2004, to be used in FSX. Everything works great on the aircraft, however there is no sound. Ive noticed this with many FS2004 aircraft being used in FSX. My question is.... does anyone know of a soundset that works with this aircraft that will be similar, if not the sound for the Victor?

Thanks
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

If the aircraft's own sound folder is opened up, are there multiple .wav files present, or is there only a sound.cfg file? If the latter, it is very likely "linked" or aliased to an FS2004 default aircraft (e.g., Boeing 737-400), which would explain why the sounds aren't working in FSX. All that needs to be done is either modify the .cfg file (using MS Notepad) to alias it to another aircraft type, or better yet (as already mentioned), find a dedicated soundset that more closely matches the aircraft.

All that is in the sound folder is the cfg file. This is the same as other FS2004 aircraft Ive downloaded like Posky's 767. For those I just added a whole new soundset that is correct for the aircraft, and would like to do that with the Victor. I could use another sound, but I dont even really know what this aircraft sounds like to get something close.

If I remember right, forgive me i am getting old, the early Victors had R.R. Avons and the later marks had RR Conways. If you have any a/c on your sim with those engines then you could copy the sound or down load a decent sound system, eg Dave Maltby `s VC 10 sounds, or his Comet sounds.

Thanks! That was going to be my next thing to find out, was what powered the aircraft. These were turbojet engines if Im not mistaken...? Please forgive me, still learning about all these wonderful British planes!

Just found they were turbofan engines. Searching for a suitable sound now.

The early B1 Victors has RR Saphire

The later B2 had Conways

It was the early Vulcans that had Avons replaced by Olympus
