Looking for F/A-18C/D...

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Looking for F/A-18C/D...

Postby Computerboy319 » Mon Apr 12, 2004 8:33 pm

I'm looking for an FS2000F/A-18C. I have found some, but I am looking for one that does not have any cosmetic weapons and is painted in U.S. navy colors. I have found one, but it is an F/A-18A, not the right size for this DP I got from Bonzonie's site. So, it needs to be an F/A-18C or D, although an E or F might work, too.

Please reply if there are none left on the web. All I can find that fit my requirements are FS2002 and FS2004. There was one that was for FS98, 2000, and 2002, but it...to put it short, sucked.

Technically the F/A-18A/C is the same size (I suppose the designer may have made it a bit smaller than the other)... the Super Hornet is the one that's quite a bit larger.

Check out the ones at http://www.aerialfoundry.com/  I know it's advertised as a CF-18... but the model on that plane looks way more like the real thing than any other Hornets out there. (Except the new Super Hornet addon)  Hope this helps.

I went there. I didn't see any downloads pages. And I think Dean reimer has some kind of connection with it, as I looked at his e-mail address and it is an Aerial Foundry address. But still, it won't fit in with the campaign I am making if you are flying for the U.S. and one of the aircraft you are going to use for quite a few number of missions has a canadian designation and paint job. I know he makes navy F/A-18s without cosmetic weapons but I couldn't find any for FS2000.
And as for them being the same size, then there might be a problem with the aircraft, as when I tried Bonzonie's DP on both the F/A-18A and the CF-18A, the sidewinders were slightly back and farther away, the wing hardpoints were slightly behind the wings, and the fuselage AMRAAMs were inside the engines.

And if it helps, here is a picture of the one Bonzonie used:

Looks like it is from the Sunliners. I had to look at the squadron pictures in F/A-18 PSF.
And you may be asking "Why doesn't he just use that?"
CFS2 has the graphics, the modulation (Well, partially. D*** the people who set the limits for the mission editor! And the people who hardcoded weapons! Why no guidance?), and finally, the scenery.

Somebody posted a link to an F/A-18 Hornet over at http://www.sim-outhouse.com. I think I've got it on disk somewhere, will have a look and get back to you :)

I have already checked there a while ago. I have checked flightsim.com, simviation.com, sim-outhouse.com, aerialfoundry.com, and all the other major sites.
