Rwy12 in FSX?

Postby Zaphod » Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:09 am

Hi All.
I have used Rwy12 in FS9 for some time and I gather it can also be used in FSX? If so do I need to create a new static objects library/scenery folder in FSX addon scenery to save my work and if so, do I also need a texture folder that contains the textures or will Rwy12 pick up the libraries from FS9?

Best

All you should have to do is activate your current Rwy12 Static Objects Library in the FSX Scenery Library.

...If so do I need to create a new static objects library/scenery folder in FSX addon scenery to save my work..

??? not quite sure what you mean...you shouldn't save your 'work' (.bgls) to the static objects library\scenery\ folder, in either FS2004 or FSX. They could be saved to Addon Scenery\scenery\ (not recommended over the long term) or for your project create a new ...\\scenery\ folder for your work .bgls and activate it in the Scenery Lbrary.

Textures shouldn't be a problem. FSX will find them, either in the static objects library\texture\ folder or the appropriate fsx texture folders for generic objects.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hi Dave.
Thanks for the quick reply. The reason my projects are saved in that location in FS9 is that's the default location that is set by Rwy12.

Qoute from the Rwy12 tutorial;

By default the location of the saved files will be in

Actually if you have saved your FS9 work bgls to that location and that's the same location for the Rwy12 static objects library bgls and textures, which you have activated in the FSX scenery Library, your FS9 work will already show up in FSX.

The objects should show up though there may be some variations of location as FSX uses a different coordinate system than FS9.
