Gauge (cad_StecSys55ap.gau) - FS9 won't accept it

Postby JJH » Wed Jun 23, 2010 11:27 am

I've downloaded a Lake Renegade 270 whose panel folder contains the subject gauge. When I attempt to fly the aircraft, FS9 prompts that the gauge in question cannot be be loaded and will be disabled. Thus, the autopilot doesn't work in the aircraft. I can't find any references to this problem in SimV's search vehicle. Has anyone info on this gauge?

Well I've solved the problem. I've deleted the gauge from the panel cfg. file, installed another autopilot system I've used before and, discovering that the AP switch only operates when the aircraft is airborne, now have an operational autopilot.

...... you're not supposed to use AP on the ground.  ::) If you were using it on the ground, maybe you need to look into a PUSHBACK / TAXI gauge that can be used kind of like cruise control in a car.  You set it for 15-20 KIAS on the ground, and off you go up to 20Knots.

you are supposed to MANUALLY throttle up for take off, and once past 2,500 you can engage AutoPilot.

I would suspect that the gauge in question is either corrupt when it was made, or made for a different simulator.  XPlane, CFS, FS2000, FSX.

where did you find the aircraft that had the messed up gauge? Maybe I, or someone else, can download the craft and take a look at it to see if we get the same error.
