Broken Tachs??

I have several aircraft that I have downoaded that have tachs that do not work.

I have replaced the panels in these airplanes with panels from airplanes that do have working tachs. The tachs in these airplanes still do not work.

I have put the panels form airplanes with non-working tachs in airplanes that have working tachs. In this case the tachs will work.

So I have found that the problem is not in the panel module.

Where do the tachs get their infomation? I assume it is something in the aircraft.cfg file.

Off the top of my head, I would suspect trying to use a tach for a piston engine aircraft in an aircraft setup as a turbine aircraft.

These are all piston engined aircraft. And a tach is a tach. It shows the main shaft speed.

The airplane and panel I use for testing are the J-3 Cub.

I leaned to fly in a J-3 Cub in 1954.

It would help if you give an example of one that doesn't work. File name & page it's posted on. A link to the page would be handy. Then someone can download it & check it out.
