How to Open an object bgl file

I have MegaSceneryX Southern California and in the scenery folder there is a  FSX-SOCAL-OBJECTS.BGL file.  This file is generating extra towers, fuel stands and buildings at airports all over Southern California.  I have numerous addon airports that this file adds towers and other stuff to, even though in the Scenery Library this file is below the addon airport bgl's.

I tried to open this with ADE to see if I could disable the objects that this is generating at airports that I do not want it at, but ADE would not open it.

Can anyone tell me what program will open this file?

I would ask MSX, but I posted the problem about why was MSX So Cal generating this stuff and never got a response, so I am sure that MSX is not going to be interested in modifing their bgl and posting a patch.

Regards,

Rod

Still trying to fix John Wayne International??

You would need to decompile the BGL file, which gives you an XML file. Open the XML file with Notepad, find the offending objects by LAT and LON, remove, save file. Then take the XML file and recompile with BGLComp.exe New BGL file overwrites the old. Make a BACKUP first!

Or you could consider making a small XML file with exclusions rectangles to delete the offending items, compile and place in a higher layer than the Mega stuff.

Your best option would be the exclusions, since I have found that messing with already collated files tends to give you a real problem.  You can screw something up that you meant to leave alone, or you can screw up your FS entirely.
