Random faillures crash boxes

Do you guys know of a way to put crash air boxes in the sky but not making them completely crash you? I mean, just give you random faillures...

So, if you went through one of these, it wouldn't crash the airplane, just creat some random faiilure, like, engine, radio, hidraulics, etc,etc....

I'd like to use them in free flight...

Possible?
