Unwanted trees

Postby dsmz » Sun Aug 03, 2008 11:58 am

Hello, Well I have just upgraded the video card so I jack up the autogen, now I have got trees right next to the runway and at the ends of the runway. Is where a way of removing just this few trees??

Many Thanks

Download excbuilderv2.zip for FS9 or there is an FSX version if using FSX.

Simple tools which you will soon master..........

Not sure if it is on SimV but Google is your friend.... if still not able to find it then try here........

ExcBuilder won't remove trees in FSX.  You need a tool that creates terrain excludes (via Shp2Vec) for that.  It will work in FS9 provided the deleteAll flag is set

Commoner,

Having experimented further, with ExcBuilderX, in regards to my statements in the earlier post:

ExcBuilderX will remove autogen (buildings and trees) but only in those cells** that are fully within the exclusion rectangle.

**Not sure if the defining cell is an LOD13 cell or the terrain tile area, but in either case it's approx 1.3km2.

So the exclusion needed by Brian (CAFedm) was successful as a large area, bounding many cells,

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks Dave.......not being into FSX I was not in a position to know such details but saw the post and took it at face value.

...but as dsmz is using Fs9 anyway, it is not a problem in this instance. Be nice to know which tree we are dealing with here or rather which airport!
