Dont know if this is in the right section but you guys might know the answer. I downloaded an aircraft carrier (the ark royal) for fs9 and installed according to the instructions. The ship pops up in all the right places, and is fine. However, it has a white deck in the place where it should be black. But only just after the traps! Extends to forward of the deck and looks bizzare.

Checking the texture folder, everything is there including the bmp for the deck after the traps, which is as it should be, looking like a runway.

Re downloaded to see if i had any textures missing, but no they are all there. The bmp is definetly in the folder but for some reason its showing 'white' instead of 'runway'

Any ideas on what could be up? I dont know much about bgl and dat files but i know how to install and stuff like that.......

...mmmm.....you don't say which actual download it is, so impossible to give any opinion.........IF it is this one here on SimV then there is a fix for a texture problem which you need to use..........commoner

Cheers! I dont think it was that particular download, but i think its the same ark royal.

Im sure i got mine from avsim (after a google search) and there was a load of fixes for it, mainly deck issues but not actual texture issues. Hmmmm......downloaded this anyway so thanks for that and im looking at whats what right now!

Well it appears they are two differing ark royals......however, they are in the same place! Although the one ive got has four 'ark royals' at differing locations.

Further investigation of the texture folder whilst looking at what was in the 'fix' download revealed a '.tga' file (photoshop opens this) which seemed to be for the circular numbers on the deck. I took it out of the texture folder and now the deck is showing correctly............ :-/

Strange.  There are bmp files relating to the circular numbers as well, as they still show. Im a bit baffled but ive now got a proper deck!
