Clouds on my runway?!?!?

Postby CaptainXion » Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:12 am

I recently purchaced a program by FlightOne called Airport Facilitator X. I have three problems: One, there is a low lying cloud in the middle of my runway  :o. Two, there are no center lines on the runways. And three, does anyone know where I can get a tool to flatten the land around my airport? It is fictional. Thanks!

What sim are you using. It matters for the flatten.

For an FS9

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks, Dave.

I forgot to mention that I'm using FSX. ::) The airport is in Nevada, so the elevation is around 5,000 feet, so I guess it would be normal for there to be clouds. I got the runway lines sorted out, but the only way I found to flatten the land was by placing taxiways under the runways.

If you have FSX-Standard (no SDK) then you can use an AFX apron to flatten the airport area. The problem with this method is you get the apron texture (of your choice) which probably won't look very realistic in a remote setting.

I haven't been able to find any flatten utilities that don't require the SDK.

If you have the SDK then the FSDeveloper.com forums I mentioned, host and provide support for several FSX scenery programs/utilities that exploit the SDK. One to look at is SBuilderX. I believe it can create your flattens as well as the option to re-texture the area to suit. There may be others.
