Hey. Im having a problem with placing an effect in FS2004. The Effect shows up but is not comforming to Input in the effects file. The effect is a glide slope that I created. The problem is that I want it to only show in the Cockpit/VC views but it is showing up in all views. Ive followed the SDKs to the best of my ability and still all views are showing. Anyone know what I can do to get the desired result. Thanks Greg

This is just a WILD stab in the dark, but try the effect without the "Radius=1" entry.  If I'm not mistakin', that param. is for static effects only.(ie. volcanoes and such)

OK ill try it but the SDK states that it must have a radius to show.

Below is a snip from the SDK "manual":

Radius=200
-----------
The maximal size of the effect. You must give an effect a radius for it to show up as [glow=yellow,2,300]scenery[/glow]. Measured in meters.

Not to discourage you in any way, but doesn't FS9 already have something like that called "Visual flight path"? (Granted, an effect like this could be handy!)

Dont know havent seen one at least. Got the effects file pretty well set just still visible in all views. The effect extends out to about 3000 meters and starts at about 1600 FT Alt. 1000 meters out I have the effect change colors as an indicator of proximity to the threshhold. It is deffinetly nice for low Vis approach.
Only thing I can think of as far as the Vis glideslope is the ILS indicator on the GPS. Havent ever tried the ILS yet always like to land the plan manualy.

Switch your sim to "titlebar" mode (if you fly full screen), click the Aircraft tab, and choose "visual flightpath" from the menu. That sets up a row of airborn hoops, tiles, or squares that you will fly through (or over depending on which mode you choose) if you're on the right glideslope.

Radious didnt work. Here are some shots. The effect is placed at the ends of each runway and start 20 meters from the surface. They are static and always on. I was inspired to figure out how they did the effects in the lotus Video here.
