How to Resize a 8 /256 image whit alpha channel ?

Hi

Im making gauges whit some reflection and hilight
i whant to resize a  8/256 color image
whit an alpha channel whit out losing my alpha chanel

what programme i need for that

i have paint shop pro but they not able to save image in 8/256 color whit out losing alpha

i have imagetool also but its work only whit 64,256,512,1024 format ?

i know that is possible to get other format image becose i have see some hilight  and reflection  in other gauge made by some other guys ?

pls help !

DXTBmp will save as Extended 256 colour with Alpha. Don't know if this will do what you want.

I whant to save it at a format of 132X132 Dxtbmp only save at 128X256X512X1024 format

and that my trouble i not whant to resize all my gauges background becose i will loss a lot of detail ??? :-?
