Radio Problem

Postby ivormills » Sat Jan 06, 2007 10:46 am

I have just installed a new panel and I can't change the radio/nav frequencies. The transponder is OK. I have checked the config files and they seem OK. I installed a second set of radios in the panel that work elswhere, but have the same problem.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

I know you said you've checked the cfg files but it sounds to me like the radios are not enabled in the aircraft.cfg file

Check the aircraft.cfg file and see if it has a [Radios] section.
It should look something like this:

[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1       = 1
Com.1

Does your aircraft.cfg file have the correct entries for the radio stack, vis-avis
backup channel settings?

     ( replace < and  > with square brackets )
Audio.1=1
Com.1=1, 0
Com.2=1, 0
Nav.1=1, 0, 1   <---no 2nd channel but has DME
Nav.2=1, 0, 0
Adf.1=1
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1

Nav.1=1, 1, 1   <---has 2nd channel and has DME
Nav.2=1, 0, 0

Many thanks for your help, problem sorted :)

The [RADIO] config entry was for radios with standby frequency but the radios installed with the panel had no standby. I changed the config as suggested and all now works fine.

Once again, Many thanks.
