RW12 help

Postby Demo » Wed Dec 13, 2006 9:40 pm

I don't know what's happening.  Maybe somebody can help me, maybe not.  I added four buildings to an airfield... saved and created .bgl file,  put it into the addon scenery folder and added it in sim... only one of the four buildings show up and thats the tower.  Might anyone have a possible reason and fix to this problem of mine?  Thanks in advance!

Exactly which folder did you put it in?

Do you have the (3) Rwy12 Static Objects Library(s) properly installed and 'active' in the sim.

If not, the possible scenerio is: The tower is a FS9 default object and will show. The other objects are Rwy12 objects and will not show if the 'Static Objects Library' is not installed and activated in the sim. These would include the 3 'Rwy12 Library Collections' and any other Rwy12 libraries you are using.

By default (per the Rwy12 library installation readme), the location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\Static Objects Library\(subfolders)-\scenery\*.bgl's and ...\texture\*.bmp's.

(Note: you may have, or can install in a different location as long as you have the proper folder structure, i.e;....\Static Objects Library\with subfolders-\scenery\containing the *.bgl's and ...\texture\containing the *.bmp's)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Sorry for not being specific enough.  Yes I have all three libraries for it, and activated.  And, I put it in Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/Scenery.  The Tower Shows up but the three hangars do not two of the hangars are dwag_hangars - MemonMission Animated Hanger  and the third is GA-Hangers_lib Stephen Legg - GA-Hanger01 - Structure.  Will this only correctly work in FS9?

Apparently Rwy12 scenery will work with FSX. Rwy12 works in FSX article at the Rwy12 web site.

.....I put it in Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/Scenery.

Does it mean the 'Static Objects Library' or the Rwy12 generated .bgl for your scenery?

it means the .bgl file.  The 'Static Objects Library' is just in Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery

It would appear then that everything is in order.  If the .bgl is ok it should work, so I'm at a bit of a loss for an answer.

Have you tried the scenery in FS9?

Did you do a  'Generate Scenery' after all objects were 'added'? (Had to ask, I think we've all forgotten that final 'Generate Scenery' at least once while building a project  ;) )

Dave

Edit: As the tower (FS9 default object??) shows, while the others (Rwy12 objects) don't, I still tend to suspect the 'Static Objects Library'. You could test that by replacing one of the Rwy12 objects with an FS9 object and see if it shows.

If you wish you may e-mail your project files (the .bgl and hopefully the .xml), and I could try them in Rwy12 and FS9.
