I always suggest this, so if I'm sounding like a broken record it is no surprise...anyway, after learning about SBuilder, I won't revert to any of the other programs used previously for scenery design. This one allows you to change land and water areas (you could create an island if desired), adjust mesh, and make roads. You can also add buildings and objects from a scenery library that comes with the program if you decide to do so later. It is freeware, look for sb205.zip. It is also extremely easy to learn how to use.

So far SBuilder is cool....   .  All I need to know is how (in what order) are things done to compile the created files so they can be used with other programs like AFCAD.  Also call me a noob but when I load  fs9 up I get an error that says my memory is maxxed, than fs9 closes.  The only thing I can think of here are files that are too big.

P.S. CONGRAT'S SIMVIATION ON THE NEW FORUM!! :)

With SBuilder, your projects are saved in .bgl format. As far as I believe, they cannot be combined with an AFCAD file as it would be in a different format. Best to treat your completed projects as separate entities (think of it as layering) that are used in conjunction with whatever AFCAD modifications you are using. You may want to experiment with the order that your addon scenery files appear in FS, again think of layers; for mine, the generic Addon Scenery folder (where AFCADS go) is further down on the list than specific addon scenery projects (such as those created with SBuilder). Hope this makes sense!

Hmm...Have your scenery projects been placed in your Addon Scenery folder, and activated in FS accordingly? How large are the new scenery files? The city project I worked on ended up with about 5 MB for all of the .bgl files, with another 35 MB for the associated textures. Even this amount doesn't cause problems such as a memory crash. Also, your amount of RAM seems more than up to the task. Unless you have been very busy with SBuilder lately :o then maybe check out some other things, such as looking up which processes are running in the background, and whether the problem persists if your addon projects are temporarily removed. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Ah dunno...maybe there is a corrupt file or something in your addon project.  Did you try creating one small file with sbuilder, and then test just that in the sim? (e.g.,  create one small island or landclass with a few buildings on it)

Otherwise...am stumped :-?

Problem Found.......

LOL OMFG...ahhh ..  GITEEN=DUMASS

I didn't have SCASM installed.

But still I think I could use a lesson in file paths and adding to fs9. This is a problem for me and all Im doing is creating some land class scenery.  FS9 won't recognise but now boots.
