CALLING ALL "MIDWESTERN" FOLK

Postby Falcon500 » Thu Sep 07, 2006 9:31 pm

That includes da trolls, yoopers, buckeyes, canadians, ETC.......

I am pondering a massive project to add a little action to the Great Lakes area, maybe even the Mississippi drainage.

By what i mean is,

Frieghters, and their accompanying ports,

small craft around Duluth, Marquette, the Soo, TVC, Green Bay, Grand Rapids Muskegon, the Thunder bay area, Detroit, ETC....

We would need quite a few terrain editors, 3d modeling editors, ETC.....

So is anyone with me?

(for FS9 primarily)

What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....

Hey Falcon. One of the trolls here. ;D I may be interested some time in the future. I have'nt yet taken a look at the freighter you sent me. Working on my Dash8. But I thought I would suggest a program that would help with placing your BGLs. Its called OBplacer it has access to the default scenery wich includes docks, marinas, boats, and more. If you download the picture pack it will also give you a preview of the model to place.
It comes with a FSUIPC key for the free version. When you download FSUIPC and insatll with FS and OB running you can slew around the sim to place the models. It reads the coordinates from FS and inputs them to OB.
You can also add local models that you have created in gmax and put them all in a single BGL file for the Sim. I would be glad to help with the set up. Just check for my email. Here is the link.

Hi Falcon,
I would be interested in making some buildings for your project. I saw this post a while ago but I was not able to register at this forum till now. So not sure if you are still thinking about doing some add-on stuff for the Great lakes area but if you are let me know. While I was waiting for Pete to get the forum thing fixed I started to work on something that might be in line with your idea, I made the Lighthouse at Whitefish Point, Its not totally finished, but close.
