texturing in GMAX

Postby South » Sat Aug 19, 2006 1:35 pm

hi,

I am trying to Model a Scenery object in GMAX, and i can model just fine and have mastered just about everything i think there is to master except texturing.
I have looked literally everywhere and cannot find a GMAX Texturing tutorial for dummies like me. :P

Is there a way to texture certain sides of the object (Top Left right etc)? Just how to texture period would be helpful :P

sucks to be clueless. :P

Look in the default gmax tutorials for the UVW mapping tutorials.

At FFDS there are a number of tutorials and/or links to texturing tutorials.

Remember, it doesn't matter WHAT you're texturing, the principle is the same -

The easiest and most basic tutorial that I've found is Joe Binka's "cigarette box" tutorial

When it comes to scenery objects and how FS9 understands the textures, it's best to read the scenery SDKs from Microsoft. The SDKs also provide you with the necessary tools to accomplish the task.
