For creating an entire new airport, how would I go about deleting the autogen around the area? Something with a .bgl I'd assume..

Thanks

A previous thread on the subject.

FlattEx generates code to be inserted into the scenery.cfg file.

Another option for excludes is Excbuilder V2. It generates a .bgl file so no editing of the scenery.cfg file.

*You'll no doubt need to 'flatten' so that Afcad runways, etc., will show properly.

*You may also want to change the terrain texture around the airport.

**As I use SBuilder, that does all the above and more, I can't suggest single utilities for the last 2. You could browse Scenery.org, or maybe someone can make suggestions.

You can also create an exclusion zone manually [works wonders for me] by following the tutorial on this link. You need the BGLcomp program that comes with the Scenery SDK from Microsoft. The BGL Compiler turns the XML code in Notepad into a BGL file that FS9 can understand and all you have to do it drag and drop into into ...\Addon Scenery\Scenery folder for it to work.

Pardon me for jumping into this thread, I've just tried that method and it got rid of all the buildings at my chosen airport but left the runway intact.  How do I get rid of the runway as well?  I want to remove everything and leave a big grass field.

Afcad can delete any/all of the runways, taxiways, etc. from the default airports.

In the same edit you can then add in what you want, or just leave the airport blank.

Afcad is available from the Utilities download section. Make sure you get the version approprite for your sim version.
