What is the easiest way to add The default taxiway signs to FS?

I really don't want to use the normal code to do it because i am doing a large airport and that would just take me way way too long.

Here's a tip:

If you are dealing with multiple taxiways signs, then it's best to model the signs all at once in a 3D modeling application like Gmax.

Use the map view in FS and take a screenshot of it. Then save the shot as a *.bmp file so that you can use it as a reference in either Gmax or FSDS. You then need the M$ SDKs in order to export the models from Gmax directly into FS9.

However, I "don't" know how to help if you use FSDS.

There is another method to apply taxi signs directly into FS9 without having to use a modeling program, but that method is complicated since you are required to "clearly" understand and know the XML code and its inner workings.

Here's another suggestion...dunno if you have used SBuilder, if not then do yourself a favour and download it (I use version 2.05).  Not only can you make taxiway signs, but there are many other options available for scenery mods.  I haven't actually tried adding signs using this program, but it can be done, as shown by the screenshot below:

OK...you first create a project (say, your airport) and enter the lat & lon coordinates. Obviously for an airport, this needs to be fairly precise - will take some trial & error or else a slewed flight or two to get everything within range. You would then add each sign using the Objects button (this brings up the menus shown here and in the first screenshot). You may pivot the signs in any direction, change their size, drag & move them, etc., as you see fit. I've added two signs to this project which show up as small yellow boxes. Here's what you would be presented with initially, when starting out:

If you don't mind spending a little bit of money on a commercial program that will do everthing you want visually in FS in real time........and save you loads of time.......get EZ-Scenery. Every other way is complicated and hit and miss.....unless your happy with that, and of course it's free :)

This is your answer to building what you want, Kat's right your asking a big request which require much time on your hand to understand. lol

"Also, is there a way to add custon runway textures to FS??

Your making more things complicated then you have too, You will become  modeler, or designer utilizing ethier gmax or FSDS, these programs allow you do desing whatever you want in 3d form like "taxiway signs". You will have to downlaod plugins from microsoft downloads section, which will allow you to import your model into the sim, with textures animation etc. etc.
;D

Other option, "creatsign.zip" "avsim.com", this program allows you to add custom "airport taxi signs".

;D

...like Ivor, I use a combination of Abacus' EZ-Scenery, and LAGO's FSE to populate my airfields, in real time, what-you-see-is-what-you-get...!
EZ-Scenery selects all of the default objects, (and more), within the simulator for placement in real-time.... ;D...!
...and LAGO FSE does the same job, with it's own library of excellent objects.... ;D...!
Both programs well worth purchasing if you dont want to design airfields the hard way... ;)...!

Cheers all...!

Paul...Scenery Designer the easy-peasy way...;D...!

P.S. "Runway 3" will generate simple asphalt/concrete/grass/dirt airstrips with a few clicks of the mouse...and it's free!...;)...!

As the default Taxiway signs are in the default list of FS 2004 objects then they will appear in the "E-Z Scenery" library of objects....;)...!

Just select them and use the "E-Z Scenery" windows and commands to place them in the required positions as you would any other E-Z Scenery object.... ;)...!

"Runway 3" is available here at Sim V... ;)...!
