Yet ANOTHER M$ glitch to fix . . .

Postby Travis » Mon Mar 27, 2006 11:15 am

Well, I've been tooling around trying to decide what I want my home airport to be, and I decided on PLCH, on Christmas Island out in the Pacific.  Its south of Hawaii, out in the middle of the ocean.  It provides plenty of room to test new vehicles and create my own scenery.  Not much in the way of hills, but we can't have everything . . . ;)

Unfortunately, M$ decided to provide me with a few glitches to stand in the way of progress:

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!  There's a great gawking clump of coding missing, right here!

I want to figure out what to do about it.  It would be a big help if someone would be kind enough to check their version of PLCH to see if the same thing exists.

PLCH is northwest of the square.  Its just below the HDG digits in this shot:

If it is there, can someone please help me get rid of it?  Maybe point me in the direction of the right editor for the landclass, or whatever I need to change?  I'd also like to change the water class (or whatever) to that of the normal ocean textures, so if there's an editor for that I would more than appreciate a link or two . . .

If this is another M$ goof the only way I know how to fix it is to replace the scenery by making your own. I would recomend you use sbuilder just make sure you get all of the coordinates needed to replace the scenery.
Once you make it just put a flatten or exclude to wipe out the existing area. Unless you know the name of the bgl file currently being used if so just make your file the same name and overwrite it.
I had to do something like this to get rid of a vor station that M$ put in the middle of a runway at Vostock.
The only differance was I did not have to replace the entire scenery I just had to remove the exsiting vor station.
