Panel/gauge lighting

I've been rebuilding the panel for my Cessna 206, and I think i've got most of the gauges I want installed, but there's only one problem. The night lighting sucks. Some gauges glowing orange, while others are white.

I also noticed that the same gauges that glow orange in the 2d panel, don't in in the VC. Why is this?

Is there a way to edit those gauges so they all light up the same color?

Andrew,

Yes, you can change the default lighting by changing some values in the panel.cfg. I'm not at my PC right now, but from memory if you look at the bottom of the panel.cfg, there will be 3 lines (I think) that include the names 'color' and 'luminosity', followed by three numbers - these are Red, Green, Blue values. The 'color' figures define the colour cast of the panel in the dark, and the luminosity figures define a colour illumination that you would like your gauges to show up as.

I'd give you my values for a subtle yellow, but - yep, not at my PC!

Play around with the values (or see what they look like on Photoshop or similar) and see what comes out.

;)

Back at my PC now - this is the section I was referring to:

[Color]
Day=255,255,255
;Night=160,0,0
;Luminous=40,240,240
Night=130,100,60
;Luminous=220,90,90    //pale red gauges
Luminous=220,200,100   //pale yellow gauges

Thi is from my 737 panel.

Does that solve the problem of different gauges illuminating different colors ?

I've been messing around with opening cab file gauges.. changing what gauges read what tank levels..

The problem with that is that the torch doesn't have as much forward visibility as my landing lights ;D

Did you hear the one about the Irishman who had a Jumbo land on his house because one night he forgot to turn the landing light off....

(Think you need to be a Brit to understand that one ... maybe?)
