yeh the trees are part of the autogen. what you need to do is make an 'exclude' .bgl to take the trees out. I use ExcBuilderV2 which you can download HEREhttp://www.scenery.org/design_utilities_b.htm. It is EXTREMELY simple to use! Uses FSUIPC to sync w/ the game and you just go to slew mode and mark the northwest and southeast points around the tree. And its not only for trees; it can be used for any sort of autogen such as houses, taxiway signs, beacons, windsocks; anything!

legal? um. not sure what seems illegal about it so i would have to say yes. i don't understand how this way cannot work. you have trees; this program takes away trees. you'll have to give more details. i'll do my best to help you figure it out.

I have been looking for a program to exclude just the autogen scenery and not everything else and this one is so simple and works like a dream!

Many thanks brantmacga for a great link.

Make sure you've got FSUIPC installed correctly. Even if you don't have FSUIPC, you can still use ExcBuilder. All you need to do is manually input the longitude and latitude. In slew mode, just set your plane's heading to 360. Go to the northwest point of the object (such as a tree) and type in the coordinates in ExcBuilder. Then, go to the southeast point and do the same. In the top right corner of the program, check what type of object you want to delete. If you want everything within your points deleted, just click "All Objects". Uncheck the box that says delete source after compilation (I'm really not sure if that step is suppposed to be mandatory but my exclude patches don't work unless I do). Next, click "Generate source code" and then click "Save source and generate .bgl". Just save the file to your 'addon scenery/scenery' folder in fs9. I usually save my files as such   -- "K***_EXC_ObjectType_001". It helps me keep track of my files by putting the airport code, then program type, then object, and assign a number to it. I really hope this helps. Just reply if you still can't get it to work.  --------- Another note, I said you need FSUIPC to run it, but it may actually need FSConnect. You should be able to download FSConnect at the same link I provided above. If not, let me know and i'll try to find it for you. Sorry if I confused you!

Allways read the readme!.....it says:

"Download FSConnect from some major FS site (like avsim.com) and copy FSConnect.dll to Flight Simulator 9\Modules directory"

That will get it working :)
