Hi,

Searchin in vain for a step-by-step tutorial how to configure an own made fence.
Strange things are happening, such as one side is OK but the other side gives an optical illusion: aircraft is behind the fence but I see still the fence behind the aircraft.
It could help me to know what I put into GMAX, what I put into FS and how I handle DXTBmp (must I in DXTBmp keep the Alpha channel appart or apply on the basic image; or simply save the file (basic  and Alpha)into an Extended bitmap in DXT3 with Alpha and put it in FS ?
Do I use a plane for texturing of use I a box with a height of zero value ?
This transparency question is not a simple one...

Thanks anyway. Greetz. Jos

Hi Bourgoignie,

I have no idea what the ... you're talking about (seems very technical), but I think you should post this in the designers forum.

Good luck!

Hi,

You can either download a fence and install it according to the given directives... or make it self... and use it (I am re-building an airport in GMAX).
The tutorials are not always clear enough, complete and easy to follow (as some tutorials do and are in fact an example of how a tutorial must be set up).
I have already posted topics on other Forums, but no satisfying answer was given.
If I succeed to find the solution I entend to make a tutorial myself to help others.

I had a simular problem with fences I made for my LIS launch site. It was a display order problem, I fixed it by generating the fence as the last .bgl to go into the project.
