Hi Everyone,
I am new to FS2004, but have been using FS2002 Pro for about 2 years. Recently after installing FS2004, I tried to add on scenery files through the correct way of Settings-Scenery Library-Add . But when I try to add the Scenery from the Add-On Scenery Folder, my FS2004 hangs up with an error message saying "Cannot unpack files Code1.2. contact author". Any ideas or help solving this problem will be highly appericiated. Thanks""

Does this occur with all scenery addons, or with some?

It occurs with all sceneries, maybe once or twice the procedure has gone through and I can get the scenery working, but majority of times I get an error and the FS2004 stops responding. Awaiting suggestions and solutions.
Thanks.

Wish I could help but I've never experienced this problem myself or seen it mentioned before.

Hi - welcome.
Please excuse the dumb question - you have unzipped the downloaded file before you tried to add it into FS9, haven't you?
If you have, then like Hagar I can't offer any furtehr suggestion as it has never happened to me either.

Good Evening,
Adding scenery in FS9 requires you to open a downloaded zip file to a temperary location then moving only specified named folders into FS9 addon scenery directory. (Such as Afcads to the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder and named files to the Addon Scenery folder directly)
Then you have to start up FS9 and click on settings and scenery library. Then you have to click on "add new area". find the FS9 Addon folder and click on the named scenery you wish to install. Once you have done that FS9 will tell you to restart in order to see your scenery. You will then know you installed your scenery properly when you see the "creating new database for new scenery file indices" message at the FS9 Loading (Splash) screen.
If you can take a screenshot of what you are encountering maybe the folks here can assists you further. But that is how it is typically done in FS9

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions, they were very helpful. Looks like I have situation under control now. As it seems the add-ons are working fine and I am able to add new sceneries. Looks like I had a bad .bgl file in one of the add-on scenery which I had placed in the AddOn Scenery Folder. So after deleting that scenery folder, everything seems to work fine.
Again thanks for all the replies. Happy Flying.
