BEACON and STROBE uncoupled for a Cessna?

Postby altairzq » Tue Jul 19, 2005 4:36 am

I'm using this new add-on (fspassengers) and it's penalizing me every flight for leaving the STROBE light on the platform because of the Cessna 182s having both BEACON and STROBE on
the same switch.

I would like to change the panel and have one switch for each.

It would be something like this, although this is not the switch, just a detail of the cessna_182_panel_decals.bmp:

Any idea where to find this switch? I've looked into many sites that have panels and gauges, but no luck so far. I wonder if this really exists.

Check out the default aircraft like the Boeing 737 or 747 they both have a seperate switch for the strobe and beacon. It should be realtively easy to change the cessna panel to have one of the swithes.
But you may have to edit the orignal bitmap to erase the hole where the old gauge was.
You could use CFGEDIT to do this provided the gauge is not a XML gauge as CFGEDIT can not read XML gauges. 8)

I did this with the mooney bravo lights, but then I realized I had lost the fuel pump switch,  which in the cessna is part of the switch containing the lights:

gauge18=Cessna182s!Switches,  85,431,132,46

Also, I'd like to have the Cessna stile if possible. I guess if the decals have it, it must exist somewhere  ???

altairzq,
Could you not just assign keyboard keys to each lite and do it that way?

The payware version of FSUIPC will allow you to do this very simply.  It also will give you access to a lot of other controls that are not "native" to the keyboard assignments.
