I read somewhere that fs2006 wont have backwards compatibility , something that is a key issue in all FSsim versions is that true????

FS2006 does not exist. Whatever you read is a rumor that is a result of someone's speculation. Don't worry about it.

I suspect Rollerball's the man to set us straight here. My understanding is that the FS9 XML methods should be compatible. All scenery designed using SCASM ie made with FSSC/airport with api macros etc will not.
