Has anyone found a way to get the satelite photos from maps.google into fs2004?  Is this possible?  Would this be infringing copyright?
Thanks,
Brian

It would be possible, but I doubt it would really be worth doing, as the photos have watermarks in them.

Never tried maps.google but ENCARTA works fine in FS9's kneeboard.

Any online URL  will open in the kneeboard provided the website does not Open In New Window; if this happens, Internet Explorer will open instead of in the kneeboard window

I believe the original intent here was to get satellite photos as ground textures.

google uses satellite and aereal imagery from the US Geographical Survey, which can be obtained from terraserver.microsoft.com without watermark

they come in tiles to 200x200 pixels. up to 10X10 tiles can be put together in a single picture.

there are severall grids, the finest grid covers only "urban areas" one of wich is chicago

there is also a 1 m grey grid covering basicly the whole united states and severall colored grids of various resolutions and wavelengths covering the whole world
