Ok, I managed to get the area where I want my new Airport flat. I went to Afcad and created the airport. Put in all the cordinated and so forth. I insert a small runway. I go to Flight Sim and the runway is way above the ground. It basically floats. I read the help with AFCAD and did what it said. The runway still floats above the earth. I tried flattening a huge area, much more than my simple runway would need. Still does not work. Any suggestions. Thanks

One thing to remember, when you flatten your area you will be placing the scenery at, all objects you add (buildings, runways/taxiways, ramps etc.) will then be placed at an elevation of 0!
Some have thought that if the elevation of the area was say 300 ft above sea level, then that's what they set their objects elevation to. Not so Mon Ami!
In my days of scenery design, it helped tremendously to set any runway, taxiway, ramp or parking area .1, .2 or even .3 feet high. This helped the runways etc. display better and reduced the chance of the "flickering" concrete.
Also, check if your runway is elevated about the same height of any surrounding hills or terrain. If it looks like it is, then extend the flatten area a bit. Sometimes the flatten area isn't read large enough so some objects appear to be floating.
Good luck, double check your elevatioin of the runway.
