Gauges question

I'm very interested in designing some gauges of my own. Anybody know a good tutorial and the tools which I may need?

Hi, I've started an XML gauges tutorial at our site. There is a lot to it, and it's going to take a lot of individual chapters. The first one that's up gives some basic background info. But more to follow hopefully on a weekly basis,
