Carriers

Postby matthew954 » Thu Feb 24, 2005 8:13 pm

OK, Is possible to make an aircraft carrier to be able to land and take off from?  And can it be placed in the air above the ground?  I realize this is an unusual question, so I'll explain why I'm asking.  I have been converting some Wing commander Meshes I've found on the web and came across the TCS Victory Spacecraft Carrier.  So I got the idea of possibly making the mesh capable of taking of from and landing on.  If this can be done please tell me how to accomplish this.

You just have to create a solid invisible surface on the deck. I cannot think of the program, FSSC maybe? But it's just a matter of FS thinking there is a hill or runway or something solid there.

But would I still be able to fly under it?  Or if I can't, I suppose I'd have to place it near the ground.

Ok, I found the program FSSC, but it says I'm forbidden to download it.  Is there another place I can download it?

I had found it at the official site.  But not to worry I found a copy for fs2002 at another site.  Come to think of it, will that version be compatible with fs2004?

You can use FSDSv2 to create the invisible poly. Use the FSSC Scasm compiler I think to peoduce it. Then there is a helo pad tutorial here at simviation which tells how to insert it into FS2004 I do not remember the file name try typing in Heli pad tutorial in search. Or you could create it in Fssc  as an island scenery(produce your carrier as an Island macro) but then you would have invisible slope from the deck to the water. Hope this helps. Glitch
