George Carty 707 panel in HJG 707-320

Hi. I am wondering if anyone has successfully gotten George Carty's great 707 panel to function right in an HJG 707-320. See, I tried it and the problem was that the 2 inboard engines wouldn't run and as was explained to me that because George has the fuel system instruments in his 707 panel configed to work with the BOAC 420 varient which has a different fuel tank arraingement than the 320 had. I am wondering if anyone has figured out a work around for this to allow Georges panel in the HJG 707-320. Any technical advice for editing the a/c.cfg would be a great help for me. Thanks a lot guys.

Dead easy Gary.
Just copy over the [fuel] section from George's aircraft.cfg file into the cfg file for the HJG plane.
I just did and did a great takeoff from Gatwick in a 1977 British Airways 320.
Open up the file in Wordpad or Notepad. This is the ORIGINAL

Hi Roger - you beat me to it! Exactly the technique I used to get a whole fleet of HJG 707s airborne using George Carty's magnificent panel. (Not at the same time, though...)

Thanks a lot guys. Very cool, Now I'll be able to fly the line circa '65, lol. I was only 2 years old, hehehe.

Now more seriously, I wonder about another thing. I know George has a adequate INS CDU on the center pop-up but I am wondering if anyone has configed that panel to use the CIVA INS? I know George's Included INS is part of a guage server so I just wonder how hard it would be to dump just that part of it to allow for a proper triple mixed CIVA installation. Afterall, the double configeration wouldn't play with Georges to do the triple mixing data swapping thats done in a 3 INS config. Anyone try it at all yet?

I contacted the panel's author to see if it would be possible to do it the other way around; that is, to use the 707 panel's INS in other panels. In short, the answer was no because the INS gauge is linked up to other gauges in the panel so that they all work together.
However, I don't see why you couldn't put a dedicated INS window into the 707 panel using the Civa gauges, and not use the INS that's fitted to the panel. I haven't tried it, but I can't think why it wouldn't work. Any other offers?

I never realized the -320B/C had a larger central tank than a -420! (I thought the -420 was identical to the early model -320 except for the engines). The reason why I need such a strange [fuel] configuration is because FS refuses to use a Main tank if the corresponding Aux tank is not empty - I had to relegate the Main tanks to a reserve function in order to be able to draw fuel from the correct tanks as required. If anyone has a -120 which they wish to convert they can get the relevant [fuel] section from

Because FS cannot draw from multiple tanks in user-specified ratios, the panel is designed to cycle the internal 'tank switch' through all tanks currently in use, with the time ratios corresponding to the actual fuel consumption ratios with the tanks. It involved some tricky calculations but at least it doesn't require the use of now-payware FSUIPC!
