Runway heading in AFCAD / Airport?

HI all.

I want to design an airport that MS left out.   I know the heading to be 142 from real world data.  I have the terraserver image of the airport for a background bitmap, and it is oriented so that north is "up".  When I create the runway with the correct heading on it in Airport.... the runway angle does not match the Terraserver image.

Someone want to clue me in on the heading issues for this type of design?

Thanks.

best,

................john

Airport assumes due north is up, and adjusts your runway according to heading and geographic location, taking into account the variation between true and magnetic north.

AFCAD allows you to rotate the scenery as you need it, to learn how, rtfm.

Another good site for US airports is
www.airnav.com
This site is the place to go for any info needed for the creation of a airport. It will list all stars and sids as well.
The only drawback is it is for US airports only.
