Lights on the ground

The area around my airport that I have used an exclude to remove the objects with the "ALL" option, still shows up at night with lights or lighted ground, ie... where ever there was a building that would be lighted at night, the building is gone but the lighting effect is still there.

How do I get ridd of this effect, anyone?

Steve, you can't. The default 'urban' terrain textures incorporate automatic night lighting. The only way you can mask this as far as I'm aware is to change the landclass for the area in question - you don't see any lights at night over 'open' country  ;)

I've never used it but there's a prog called EasyLandclass which lets you modify the landclass properties of LOD areas (if you notice from the air, the boundaries of different types of terrain are all square, not random).

Why don't you give it a try

Thanks Roger.  I'll look into the landclass program. Maybe I'll also be able to change how the area around my home town looks, we don't have any wooded areas around here, its all farm and dairy land.

Hay Roger:  Eazyland class works. It will cover the ground lights and effects. Can't say much about the limited choices of ground textures, but at least it works and is simple.

Thanks for pointing me to it.

Hi Paul:   Pop on over anytime. Don't know how much you will see with the smog and all. ;D Wounder if I could get all the simmers to fly in, in prop's and blow the smog out. :D

Hello Steve
You might need the Spruce Goose to do the job. Since it is just gathering dust some place might as well put it to work. ;D
Hope you got the tutorial I sent you ok

Hi Gary: Now thats an idea.  Yes I did receive the tutorial, just haven't had the time to get into it yet. I have to many fires going and not enough pans  ;D. Hope to get to it shortly as I would like to build some hangers for my airport and be able to park inside them. Thanks.

BTW do you know why the reply noticise are not working?
