Will. Where do you want the carrier? As you probably know, the CFS1 carriers are scenery objects in a fixed location. There are plenty of existing carriers available in most locations around the world. It might be possible to move them by decompiling the BGL files, manually editing the locations & recompiling them. I have never done this myself. The alternative is to find existing API macros & place them where you wish using a scenery design application like Airport or FSSC. I have done this but it was a long time ago. I used an old FS98 carrier macro by Dan Geis & resized it x2 for CFS1. I forget how I created the hard landable deck now. If it's for the CFS1 default scenery you will need a modified Classlist.bgl to stop aircraft blowing up when you touch the deck. This is included with many CFS1 carriers including my own USS Essex. http://www.simviation.com/cfs1scenery8.htm

I need the carrier to be on the western side of denmark.(N53 50.93 E8 15.00) I need it for a campaign i'm working on. I tried decompiling it and editing the scasm. Completely lost. Found a suitable carrier though. CV20 in the 35 carrier pack. Thanks.

I just reread my last reply and it came out all wrong. Cv20 would be suitable if I could move it. I kinda understand the macro thing, but I dont have any carrier macros. Could you tell me where to find them? (preferably WWII) Could you use fssc to put an airfield on top of a carrier macro?

You really need FS98 or CFS1 carrier macros. I've had a punt round but unfortunately a lot of these files have long since disappeared. Some have been updated for FS2002/4 & might no longer be compatible with CFS1. The CFS ship package here is all I can come up with for now. http://www.simviation.com/fsdesign_macros15.htm
There might be some posted on other sites. You could try Flightsim.com or some of the CFS1 sites.

You can import the API macros into Airport or FSSC & place them anywhere you wish in the CFS1 scenery. If you wish to land on them you will need to give them a hard deck. I forget how this is done.

Could you use fssc to put an airfield on top of a carrier macro?

You would place the macro in the airfield rather than the other way round.

i tried the macros but when I tried to export in FSSC scasm gave me a bunch of errors. Still have no idea on the hard deck.

good news! i have the carrier with a hard deck in place. but i'm having the explosion problem. i would replace the classlist like you said, but i have the one that allows winter installed. is there a way to make the new effect just the carrier? or is there a classlist that'll work with winter and carriers?

Glad you fixed the carrier. There might be a Classlist option you can set yourself. Look in CFS Utilities for a utility by Bill Potvin named Setclass.

I've tried using Setclass. When I use it to open the one with optional seasons the program doesn't show any thing at all.   ??? The seasonal classlist is suppose to allow water landing all year round. Is there a way to create a classlist from scratch with Setclass?

Will. I haven't used any of this stuff for years. I created the modified Classlist.bgl included with my USS Essex with Setclass. You could copy the original BGL from the CFS1 CD & try modifying that if you can find it. I don't know if there's a Setclass option to do what you want.

Nevermind, the classlist I have is working fine. Turns out the macro already has a hard deck. I can takeoff and land. The carrier seems way too short though. (may be my imagination, hard to land on though). And in my missions I start on the carrier but the ai planes start under the carrier. Thanks, you've been alot of help.
