help with textures

in what format are scenery textures supposed to be in? is it the same as for aicraft?

any feedback would be appreciated

For macro textures?

I think the norm is 256x256 pixel BMP's in 8 bit colour format. Then if needed changed into DXT for faster loading. I use 512x512 so I can fit more on each texture, I don't know whether what effect that has on performance though.

I probably do it all wrong... ::)

I find that, for FSDS, 256 colour bitmaps are best.

thanks very much i have sorted it now...just creating a new terminal for some airport in switzerland that only has a runway nothing else...making a full international airport out of it....
