Japanese textures for landscape/autogen

Postby JBaymore » Mon Mar 15, 2004 1:44 pm

Does anyone know of a source for replacement textures for the landscape of Japan?  I have a landclass add onm that makes things a bit better.... but I miss the rice paddys, the golf courses, the colored clay tile roofs, and so on.

The dafault textures make Japan mainly look like the US.

best,

you might try a search for it with google or whatever search engine you can find. One idea would be to use encartarta  or an exclopeda and try to make some texture files out of some of the maps they have for that area.
Although I have never done this not something that rings my bell if you know what I mean.

gary,

I have already searched the web high and low....and have not found any.  I speak Japanese a little and have the MS Japanese language set in my machine...... but still no luck.

The payware landclass file I recently added improved things a bit.... but it still is not great.

I haven't done anything with textures before...and really have too many irons in the fire right now with the simpit to add a new project  ;).  Just hope to find something already done.

best,
