F 16 Doc Folder?

Postby jfg123 » Tue Nov 11, 2003 8:03 am

Sim pilots.

I am adding the F 16, 2d panel to F16, the panel is by Eric Marciano, but it doesn't work. When I unzipped it it had three folders, panel, guages and Doc, I copied the panel and guages to the Flight Sim 2004 folders but were do I copy the Doc folder to?

I wish when we ge addons we would get all of it, not just some of it and then we have to figure out the rest of it.

Thanks Your helps Jg 123

jfg123. I installed this panel recently with no problems. The Doc (or Docs) folder usually contains the instructions & does not need to be installed to the sim. I didn't read them myself as I had no problems.

PS. I still have the zipfile & checked it out. The Doc folder simply contains images which you don't need to install. Make sure you installed the files properly. (Back up the original F-16 Panel folder first.) Look for a folder named Panel & paste it into your F-16. Then paste the original Panel.cfg into it, overwriting the existing file. Finally unzip gauges.zip to a Temp folder. Open the extracted Gauges folder. Make sure this is the folder containing the .gau files. Paste the .gau files into FS2004\GAUGES.

Thanks Hagar,

I now have my F16 Panel in the USAF Plane but how do I get it into the other two planes IAF that are in the same packgage, they only got some of the guages with black background and no panel outlines.
Any help here?

Hi jfg123. If the other F-16s are installed separately there are 2 methods.

1. Probably easier for you. Copy/Paste the Panel folder of the one that does work into the others - overwrite folders when prompted.

2. My preferred method. Alias Panel.cfg of the others to the one that works.

My Aliasing article might help. http://www.simviation.com/lair/aliasing1.htm

Thanks again Hagar.

Down loaded your Alias stuf but must have done wrong, for I copied the good USAF 16 panel into the hurting IAF but no go. I am now going to just fly the USAF F16 and delete the other two planes. I think I spend to much time on modification of panels and not enough time on flying.

Thanks again JFG123

JFG. I have only one version of the F-16 so don't know how they're configured. I assume the ones you have are installed as separate aircraft, that you installed them correctly & they are selectable from the FS9 menu. In this case there is no reason I can think of for a Panel folder copied from the good example & pasted into the others not working. ???
