Hi all,
Can you add scenery macros to default flightsim scenery or do you need to create new scenery areas to use macros.

Cheers HSV

Hi Hsv. It's possible to overlay default scenery with a complete new airport or simply add macros like buildings & static aircraft to it. To do this you would need a conventional scenery design program like Airport or FSSC. Create a new airfield & add the objects you wish. It's best to configure this separately like any 3rd party update. You can remove the original default objects if you wish with the Exclude switch. FSSC has an Exclude feature which is more accurate for this purpose.

Here is a link to Derek Leungs site- he is the developer of FSSC (Flight Simulator Scenery Creator):

Here is another link to a site with a great tutorial called "How to Add A Base to CFS2" (using FSSC):

Have fun!

You cant actually add macros to the default sccenery files, but you actually make new files (.bgl). In the long run it doesn't matter, the new bgl files will place your macros in the same place in the sim and can be anywhere in the woirld you like. The macro files are in .api format and are available on this site and others.
