ERROR: Drawing failed???

Hello Fellow Aviator's,

Can some one tell me why when I go to view a bitmap image in the XP's fax veiwer, or Corel Pant! I get the error message stating that the drawing failed.

I can get it to open in Pixia, but it's all black.

Any information would be appretiated.

Which BMPs are these? Panels use 8 bit (256 Color) standard BMPs which can be opened in most graphics editors. These will not necessarily save in the same format. I have no knowledge of WinXP but it should include M$ Paint which will do it if you have nothing better.

Aircraft textures will almost certainly be in an FS Extended BMP format. They can be opened for editing in DXTBmp. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm

I downloaded DXTBmp. some time ago and forgot I had it (Whooops!!!).

I shall try and open these textures with it.
