exporting a GMAX model as a macro

Postby tshikwara » Fri Jul 18, 2003 4:48 pm

I am using GMAX to make scenery etc, and have been asked by some to make my macros avialable to reposition in other locations. I dont have any worries about making the files avialable, but using MakeMDL doesn't seem to give any other options. How would I go about making things macros from GMAX?

If you want to share your work with others, why not share the *.x file? I fiddled with trying to convert a gWax object to a macro for a couple of days using Fsregen but could never get the scale to come out right, was always twice the size it should have been. The process as outlined in the Fsregen is not real clear so untill I find a GOOD tutorial on making a macro, I'll just place my objects using Makemdl.exe with a dummy object in the Airport file to take the place of the gWax object(s) till the scene is finished.

I think I am rapidly reaching that conclusion as well.
